This is the first gun I ever hunted with, back when I was eleven it seemed huge. I broke the lifter inside it about forty years ago, it was my Dad's gun. Today I got it back from my son and my nephew, they fixed it for me, that's what I call love, thanks boys, I'm going hunting with it once again

Be careful with those JC Higgins , sometimes the bolt assembly is thrust rearward when fired !!! They were recalled many yrs. ago because of this. A shame because most had beautiful Walnut wood stocks.

My first ever rifle was a German WWII 8mm Mauser When I was 16 I worked all summer for my brothers roofing company Gave dad the money and he order/bought it for me So far I’m 2:2 with it! I prefer scopes rifles for deer hunting Usually hunt fields I have a rem 700 in 308 I’ve been using mainly but the scope is off that
I just acquired a brand new ruger American 30-06 topped with a Leupold American marksman 3-9x40
