Why did Germany lose WWII?
Many people are saying Hitler but really it was more than just Hitler making mistakes.
1
Incompetent allies or allies that are too far to help.Italy wasn't exactly the best when it came to war as their land and armored forces were laughable and the Navy was limited to skirmishes with the British in the Mediterranean. Japan was really too far to help and was more of a naval power.
2
Poor logistics. To have a war machine it need fuel. The German military was mostly horse or man powered in WW2 and that made traversing an entire continent difficult as you could imagine.
3
Faliure to finish off Britain and defend Europe. Not much to say about this but allowing D-Day and Omaha was one of the ultimate downfalls
4
Attacking Russia. Ohhhh boy this was stupid. Russia had the man power and the size to play a defensive game, and they did. And no, hitler didn't lose because it was winter, he actually invaded in July. Russia has a mud season and Germany's poor logistics and transportation played a role in that (see reason 2)
5
Losing the north African campaign. The desert fox (Rommel) was already in over his head when Patton was assigned to North Africa. Patton was IMO a genius and Rommel had some success but wasn't near as experienced as Patton. Africa was the Key to Sicily. And Sicily is the key to Italy. Just ask the Greeks.
6
Japan being militaristic. Attacking the US was a no-no and didn't work out for anyone in the Axis. Frankly it was stupid and kinda backfired in the end.
