Will the .308 Win completely replace 30-06 Spr in the future?🧐
"With the new generation of shooters that is less tolerant of recoil and more "tactical" and tech gear happy rather than field and sporting lifestyle, is there still room for the good old boy in the future?"

I’m a .308 user, but the .30-06 is to good of a round to ever die... Besides, I want Texas Brigade Armory to build me a Vietnam era USMC Scout-Sniper Winchester Model 70 in caliber .30-06 with Unertl telescope... great ballistic coefficient and proven thru battle for 60+ years.

I see 2 reasons the .308 is gaining and may surpass the 06 in sales. The short action and the fact that Todays 165 and 180 grain bullets are so much more effective than in the past that you don't really need the 200 and 220 grain anymore that gave the 06 an advantage. Both the 308 and 3006 will be around for a long time

.308 is far superior. It has already replaced the 06 everywhere that people have common sense. 06 is just an obsolete antique. I hunt with a Mod 81 remington in .300 savage, and with the hornady superformance SST loads even that antique makes the 06 look stupid.
