SIG SAUER Announces Pistol, Rifle L.E. Contracts
SIG SAUER Inc. announced the Nevada Highway Patrol’s (NHP) transition to the SIG SAUER P320 9mm pistol as its official duty pistol. The NHP is a division of the Nevada Department of Public Safety, responsible for law enforcement across the entire state of Nevada with over 480 sworn troopers.
“Our diverse group of troopers is going to appreciate the custom fit of their P320, and having the ability to choose a grip size based on their personal preference due to the unique modularity the P320 is known for,” said NHP Col. Daniel Solow.
“SIG SAUER is honored to continue our long-standing relationship with the troopers of the Nevada Highway Patrol through their selection of the P320 as their official duty pistol,” said Tom Jankiewicz, executive VP, law enforcement sales for SIG SAUER.
Additionally, the Vermont State Police has adopted the SIG SAUER M400 Pro rifle as the official patrol rifle for their troopers. The Vermont State Police have jurisdiction for public safety throughout the Green Mountain State, with over 300 sworn state troopers.
The SIG SAUER M400 Pro is an AR-platform rifle with a direct impingement gas-operating system. The M400 features a full-length, free-float M-LOK handguard, enhanced SIG trigger, six-position telescoping stock and a rotating lock bolt. It’s chambered in 5.56 NATO.
“This was an ideal choice for our department because the firearm has been extensively tested for reliability in extreme conditions, and the service and support from SIG SAUER has been outstanding,” said Sgt. Eugene Duplissis, head firearm instructor and armorer, Vermont State Police.
“Our commitment to the law enforcement community is to provide them with superior firearms to protect and serve their communities, and the quality, reliability and performance of the M400 Pro truly exemplifies this commitment,” Jankiewicz added. / sigsauer.com.
