I open carry everywhere I go. I only conceal carry when I feel I have to. I want people to see it. I want people who might commit a crime to see it. Some people feel uneasy, they don't understand. Some people ask why I carry, to which i respond, "I carry not only for my protection, but for the protection of everyone around me". For those who have bad intentions, seeing my gun may dissuade them from committing a crime. At the very least, it makes me the primary target. If there's an active shooter or someone about to become one, I want his attention and focus on me..... not the 10 year old boy, not the pregnant mother, not the family doing their shopping. I want him to engage with me. If nothing else, it will give those civilians around me a few seconds to seek cover. But I'm disciplined and trained. I, unlike the active shooter, am not a coward. I will engage him and will not let him succeed. My advice.....to everybody....buy a gun, get trained, get licensed and carry it always. And don't let politicians and the media convince you that gun control is the answer. Gun free zones are the most dangerous places on earth. I do not conform. When only the government has guns and not the citizens, it becomes tyranny. We are the last stand of the free world. Be vigilant. IF THIS IS YOUR FAVOURIT FORUM TOO! Post your opinion below PLS. You open carry all you want. When the bad guy takes your weapon out of your 0 retention holster and shoots you with it. Ill be on the other side concealed carrying so i can shoot them. The public will never understand and your making a spectical trying.

Concealment means we all have guns. Open carry means you have the gun is all. And as far as the comments made in previous. I have pissed my pants in many situations and probably will again but you watch the water fall feller I will have the problem in my sites my friend. Sounds as if your the key board commando in your moms basement. Telling everyone they are right and wrong. SIR.

If the law allows you to carry in an open fashion, then it’s entirely up to you. Having said that, I personally would never carry out in the open, not because I really give two shits about those who’re “uncomfortable” with seeing someone with a gun out in the open, but because I’m in no way interested in advertising to the human debris of this world that I’m carrying something they could grab off of me because I chose to present it to them on a silver platter! I will openly admit that I’ve never taken any kind of weapon retention courses and I’ll bet very few carry holders have done so either. For those who have, you’re in a far better position than I am and I really need to sign up for one or even several. The only time I want some lowlife to discover that I’m actually carrying a firearm is when it’s to late for them!

The first and best reason I have ever heard for open carry. Problem is is most people don’t train. They just strap on a gun and think they are capable of protecting others
