Field Marshal Erwin Rommel Death: 14 Oct 1944 in Herrlingen, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany German commander during World War II, he rose to fame in command of the 7th Panzer during the invasion of France (Blitzkrieg), and later came to be known as the 'Desert Fox' for his exploits with the Afrika Korps (DAK) in North Africa against Montgomery.
Children: Manfred Rommel (1928 - 2013) - German politician, Mayor of Stuttgart (1974 to 1996). For his post-war activities, he was honoured by Britain, France and USA.
Legacy: Field Marshal Rommel Barracks, Augustdorf named in his honour is Germany’s largest military base.

In Iraq, General scchowarzhopf, used his tactic in the desert war. He totally annihilated the Iraqi’s armories. Killed and captured the whole army.
