over-under shotguns preffered to repeating shotguns in trap shooting
There are many reasons for using the Over and Under than repeating Shotguns for trap / skeet shooting
Just breaking open the action of Over Under render it in operable . Everyone can see and take heart that it is safe just by looking at open action , even If barrel is pointed where it should not be . For a repeating Gun no one can be so positively sure of its safety .

Break open Shotguns have fewer parts , hence less prone to failure than repeating Shotguns . No one likes to have a stove pipe during the match for the lifetime.
You can have different chokes in both barrels to take care of the clay pigeons at different distances . tighter choke for farther ones and more open choke for close distances .
Second shot can definitely be taken faster in case of break open shotgun than the repeater .
Can have longer barrels for the same length of firearm in case of break open action , as repeating action adds up additional 3–4 inches to the firearm length .
Easy to check for barrel obstruction with just opening the action and eyeballing it . not so easy in case of repeater .
After taking two shots , break open the action , catch the ejected empty shells and put them in the pocket in one single choreographed movement rather than keep picking them from floor after the shooting .
Break open are easier and quicker to clean on the range .
The classy look of over under definitely look better than any repeater in the market .
Last but not the least ……Over and Under more likely cost you more than the diamond you gave in the ring to your wife . Most probably she will kick you out of house , and you will at last have breath of freedom once more .
