The Syrian Kurds, even with the support of US forces on the ground, would have no chance against Turkish forces in Northern Syria. Turkey has the second largest army behind the US under NATO. They have a modern army equipped with heavy arms including tanks, artillery, armored personnel carriers and attack helicopters. By contrast, Kurdish forces are largely composed of light infantry. They do not have any weapons heavier than anti-tank guided missiles. The Kurds do have some crudely-made, domestically-produced armored cars in their inventory. However, they are no match for Leopard 2 main battle tanks. Even if the Kurds could knock out some Turkish tanks with their American-supplied ATGMs, they would have no counter to Turkish artillery and air strikes.
