“I’ve been out at Deer Meadow Outfitters for six or seven years, but always for mule deer or whitetail. Having an antelope tag in my pocket is a unique challenge that I was super excited to do. I’m a non-resident to Nebraska, so getting an antelope tag is practically non-existent unless you buy it at a banquet to support conservation efforts, like what I did. I brought my Winchester XPR rifle using Deer Season XP,” explained Bachman. The snow has already fallen in this part of Nebraska in early October and Bachman is worried the antelope were going to begin changing their patterns. “We ended up seeing whiteout conditions and had to change gears – we had to start thinking like an antelope. They didn’t know it is only October, they just know it snowed and suddenly temps dropped,” explained Bachman.
