Benelli USA Raises $85,000 For Freedom Hunters
Benelli USA recently added $85,000 to its five-year string of contributions in support of Freedom Hunters, an outreach program that provides outdoor activities for combat veterans, active-duty military personnel and military families.
The latest Benelli USA Invitational, held in September, drew participating clay shooters to Prince George’s County Trap and Skeet Center in Glenn Dale, Md., for the friendly, charitable competition. The company raised additional funds for Freedom Hunters through donations, silent auction bids and raffle ticket sales.
“This year’s Benelli Invitational was the best one yet. Support from the outdoor industry and local participants in donations of product, hunts and dollars continues to be outstanding,” said Tim Joseph, Benelli VP of brand marketing, who also serves as a member of the advisory board for Freedom Hunters. “The volunteers from Benelli USA and Freedom Hunters put a lot of heart into organizing and staffing this event. When you can have fun shooting, eat world-class BBQ, share great camaraderie and raise money for a good cause at the same time, it really is an exceptional day.”
Freedom Hunters’ mission is to convey the outdoor community’s appreciation for the dedication and sacrifices of the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces.
Through the support of numerous groups and companies, including Benelli USA, Freedom Hunters arranges outdoor adventures and opportunities for active-duty military personnel and combat veterans, as well as families of fallen heroes and children of those currently deployed.
