Federal debuts Federal Premium Terminal Ascent. Bonded construction penetrates deep on close targets, while the patented Slipstream polymer tip initiates expansion at velocities 200 fps lower than comparable designs. The bullet’s long, sleek profile offers an extremely high ballistic coefficient and its AccuChannel groove technology improves accuracy and minimizes drag. Available in a full selection of long-range hunting cartridges: 6.5 Creedmoor (130-gr.), 6.5 PRC (130-gr.), .270 WSM (136-gr.), .280 Ackley Imp. (155-gr.), 28 Nosler (155-gr.), 7mm Rem. Mag. (155-gr.), .308 Win. (175-gr.), .30-06 Sprg. (175-gr.), .300 Win. Mag. (200-gr.) and .300 WSM (200-gr.).
New Punch draws from Federal Ammunition’s decades of experience designing defensive handgun loads. The bullet’s skived jacket and soft lead core produce excellent expansion and penetration, while its nickel-plated brass and sealed primer deliver reliable feeding and ignition.
The Hydra-Shok Deep .380 Auto is the first expanding .380 Auto load to consistently penetrate beyond the FBI-recommended 12-inch minimum. Like all Hydra-Shok Deep loads, its bullet’s robust center post and core design ensure that it penetrates to critical depths through common self-defense barriers, without over-penetrating.
Force X2 from Federal Premium contains nine copper-plated 00 FX2 buckshot pellets that are specially engineered to split into two equal-size pieces on impact. This doubles the number of wound channels from nine to 18, improves the transfer of energy from the payload to the target and minimizes the potential for over-penetration, reducing the risk to bystanders. Force X2 is also loaded for more manageable recoil, allowing the shooter to stay on target for faster follow-ups and better accuracy in a self-defense situation.
Federal’s Practice & Defend Packs include 50 HST Personal Defense loads and 50 Syntech Training Match rounds. All produce identical velocities, trajectories and point of impact for the most realistic training and utmost protection.
In the Fusion line, 6.5 PRC has been added as an option for deer hunters. Paired with the Fusion bullet’s molecularly fused jacket and pressure-formed core, the new load provides tag-filling penetration and stopping power.
