“He Is One Of Us.” NSSF Welcomes Congressman Richard Hudson To SHOT Show ~ VIDEO
USA – Congressman Richard Hudson (R-N.C.), the reigning champion of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus annual sporting clays tournament, and a two-time SHOT Show® attendee – dropped by SHOT Show TV to speak with Larry Keane, NSSF® Senior Vice President of Government Relations and Public Affairs, and provide a federal-level viewpoint on shooting and hunting-related legislation and what the political environment looks like to him in 2020.
“This is probably the greatest gathering of Freedom-loving Americans in the whole country, Larry … and we’re just so appreciative of what you and the NSSF do every day,” Rep. Hudson told Keane.
Congressman Hudson is an avid hunter and supporter of the entire shooting sports industry, but also a member of the U.S. House of Representatives campaign leadership team working to regain control of the House after this year’s November election.
Congressman Hudson also provided an update on the progress of his federal Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act bill (HR 38), and discussed how previous policies introduced in the Democrat-controlled House have threatened the rights of law-abiding citizens and in turn, would do little to reduce gun violence and firearms-related crime.
In addition, Keane and Rep. Hudson discussed the NSSF’s national programs like Operation Secure Store®, Project ChildSafe®, and Don’t Lie For The Other GuyTM, as well as Congressional appropriations funding that have provided more than $2.3 billion dollars to help schools with security and technology updates, resource officer training and education and efforts to help children who may be experiencing early signs of mental illness.
