“We removed from Facebook and Instagram the recent video of President Trump speaking about the protests and his subsequent post about the election results. We made the decision that on balance these posts contribute to, rather than diminish, the risk of ongoing violence,” social media giant Facebook said in its statement while temporarily blocking US president Donald Trump’s account.
Twitter, Facebook and Instagram have suspended Trump’s accounts o their platforms, accusing him of breaking their content regulations, after the pro-Trump mob grew violent at the US Capitol Hill in Washington DC. While Twitter blocked him for 12 hours, Facebook and Instagram have suspended the accounts for 24 hours. Some of the tweets by Trump have also been removed by Twitter.
The social media giant, Facebook has also changed its label, which appear on posts that may be fake, to read, “Joe Biden has been elected President with results that were certified by all 50 states.”
