Hello, everyone. I’m sorry for the low quality photos as I never imagined posting about this, but I’m now curious about this helmet. I saw a post on here a few months ago about a navy helmet that had strikingly similar paint to this helmet i saw in my local antique shop. It is in great shape aside from the rust in the dome, but I looked very hard for a manufacturing code and lot number, but it is not present. What are everybody’s opinions on this helmet? Thanks!

Well, it's an M40 with correct liner band and rivits even look good. But unless the inner flange is pitted, there's got to be a maker and production code. Looking at the helmet the way you have it, the maker and size would be on the right hand side. The production code will be stamped on the back of the flange

Unfortunately i can’t get more photos. I took these months ago and not sure if it’s even available anymore. I have a few helmets, and i can assure you the code and lot number weren’t present as crazy as that is haha. I’m stumped

They were issued in green, so that they could be worn with the blue, white, and feldgrau uniforms. And so were the gas mask canisters.
That other post probably wasn’t a Navy helmet, because this sure isn’t one.
